Dune tower Porto

The DUIN landscape on the IJmeer will soon feature a 73-meter-high residential tower with 102 apartments. Commissioned by Amvest, Zecc designed a tall tower consisting of a bundle of vertical volumes. The building forms the first beacon in an ensemble of five buildings in the Kop Noord planning area of ​​Almere Duin. The building stands alone in a rolling dune landscape that was designed by ZUS [Zones Urbaines Sensibles] in collaboration with BVR.

The sculptural form is inspired by natural "stone columns"; the vertical volumes differ in size and are kept "separate" from each other at the detail level. Set-back detailing and vertical window strips visually divide the tower into slender volumes. In the upper levels, exterior spaces and windows are vertically joined to emphasize the rise and end the tower attractively. Balconies are located within the façade plane to provide comfort and make the outdoor area part of the living experience.

The apartments vary in size from 90 m2 to 203 m2. In the upper levels are two double-story penthouses, which give a beautiful ending to the tower. The apartments offer different experiences in terms of sunlight and views according to the levels in the tower. In the lower levels of the tower, the landscape plays the main role in the experience from the inside.
